FOUNDATION DEGREE IN HEARING AID DISPENSING WITH THE HEARING COMPANY AND ASTON UNIVERSITY.

In April 2010, the hearing aid dispensing industry became regulated by the Health Professions Council (HPC). The HPC currently regulate a number of different health professions. Now the HPC is the new regulator, an appropriate degree is the minimum entry standard for a career in Audiology. The Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Dispensing has been specially designed to meet their minimum entry standards.

The Foundation Degree in Hearing Aid Dispensing at Aston University has been developed to run alongside the existing BSc Audiology programme and shares many of the same lectures and course work. In addition, specialist training from recognised hearing aid dispensers from within The Hearing Company will ensure that the student becomes a productive member of their dispensing team at an early stage in the course.

Students completing and passing the Foundation Degree will be qualified to work as a hearing aid dispenser in the private hearing aid sector or as an associate audiologist within the NHS.
