Your Free Hearing Test - Step by Step
A FREE hearing test with our Hearing Aid Audiologist will allow you to learn more about your hearing. The test is straightforward and comprises four stages
Stage One - Your Consultation
Your Hearing Aid Audiologist will start by asking you about your general health and discussing your hearing.
Stage Two - The Ear Examination
The Hearing Aid Audiologist will then examine your ears with an 'Otoscope', a medical torch that is used to illuminate your ear canal and ear drum.
Stage Three - The Hearing Test
The hearing test itself is conducted on a 'Puretone Audiometer', a machine which delivers levels of sound at different pitches and different volumes through a set of headphones. You will be asked to indicate which of a series of sounds you can hear and the results will be plotted on a graph called an 'Audiogram', which is a record of your hearing.
Stage Four - Discussion of the Results
The Hearing Aid Audiologist will discuss with you what the test shows and recommend any action that you should take. If your condition dictates it, we will refer you to a doctor. Whatever the outcome, you will receive unbiased, confidential, professional advice as to your individual hearing requirements.
